Description
Four newly hatched Mute Swan Cygnets (cygnus olor) appear to be learning how to eat weeds. They stay very close to their parents until they learn to fly, which usually takes 120-150 days. These cuties are in a small pond in Fishers, Indiana. The mute swan is a species of swan and a member of the waterfowl family Anatidae. It is native to much of Eurasia, and the far north of Africa. It is an introduced species in North America, Australasia and southern Africa.
