Description
Just south of the town of LaPorte, Indiana sits this amazing structure, the Door Prairie Barn. The barn is a remarkable work, a nonagon, or nine-sided polygon barn, perhaps the only one of its type still in existence, according to its current owner, Peter C. Kesling. A legendary local horse and cattle breeder named Marion J. Ridgeway built the two-story structure in 1882 to house the prized breeding stock he acquired during his European sojourn to England, Scotland and France.
The barn is maintained very well and taken care of like the treasure that it is. Surrounded by Soybeans this year, maybe Corn next year.

When the soybean crop ripens and turns golden with the tree in the background, this place would be well worth another visit. Great shot, Steve. - Mike (V)
