Description
The Gothic Gateway to Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana. The cemetery was founded during the Civil War in 1863. It is over 550 acres, and is the largest greenspace inside the beltway in Indianapolis. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Crown Hill is the final resting place for many luminaries and dignitaries of their time. Buried here are; President Benjamin Harrison, three Vice Presidents, 14 U.S. Senators, 11 Indiana Governors. poet James Whitcomb Riley (of Little Orphan Annie fame) and even notorious bank robber John Dillinger. Open every day it is one of Indy's top attractions.
